We enjoy the mild climate and have been blown away by the dazzling night skies. The stars seem to be huge and more plentiful than we've ever seen before. We love the mountain living afforded us by the development, yet we are only a short distance from great restaurants, shopping, medical facilities and other activities available in Hendersonville or Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC. We were especially attracted to the layout of the lots withing the development, most of which are wooded but afford great views of the mountains around us. Unlike many developments with suburbia-like layouts with homes upon homes surrounding each other there will be very few "backyard neighbors". Around one-third of the development is planned as common area that emphasizes the open rural nature of Pinnacle Falls and includes roughly 5 miles of top-notch hiking trails. The clubhouse is a focal point for many community social events and has a great exercise room, pool and hot tub for residents to use. This is simply a great place to live! If we want to venture further afield, Dupont State Forest, Pisgah National forest and Carl Sandburg National Historical Site have trails, waterfalls, mountains, streams and history, all with an easy 15-30 minute drive. With the entrance only a 40-minute drive away, we enjoy hiking and sightseeing along the Blue ridge Parkway as well. We have zip-lined the Green River Gorge, kayaked the Green River and golfed several courses, all located with a 25-minute drive. There are also excellent theater plays, independent cinemas, many great restaurants and talent- filled concerts nearby. Spring, summer and fall are filled with festivals and tailgate markets. Winter brings snow tubing, skiing and other outdoor winter activities. We are thrilled with our move to Pinnacle Falls. There's never a lack of activity. We enjoy gatherings with our neighbors, watching the sky change with sunrise and sunset, following the path of a full moon with a glass of wine in hand and dinners on our porch - accompanied by the crackle of fire in the fireplace, the scents of pine and the music of owl calls.
